My tools are eventually here!

I bought a parchment kit about a month ago...........And I'm hooked!!
So I decided to buy the essential tools all from one website. Well was not happy.....What she does is, when an order comes in, she then orders from Australia so we have to wait at least 10 days for her to receive her order and get them out to us................Needless to say I will not be ordering from her again. I wanted to get these finished..............I was waiting for the important cutting tools so I could cut around the butterfies and edges! (7 tools £55) OUCH!

Punched Borders

I'll give you all just one guess as to what I bought yesterday................A new punch.........I am over the moon with it, in fact I am going to buy two more. They do fantastic borders. The large square card is for a wedding we are going to. I wanted something special, I think it has it!

Side step card made from A4 card

This is made using A4 card, with a bit of jiggling with the measurements it's possible. And the good thing about it is it fits a C5 envelope! I still prefer the 8" x 8" though.

Monday 20 July 2009

I spent most of yesterday making this parchment card. The actual colouring and embossing doesn't take long really. It's the finishing off that takes the time! Below is how it finished up yesterday, but having slept on it I decided to add a 3D butterfly. I think it just finishes it off!

Another step card

The second one! I made a mistake with the first one and did all my measurements on the back of the card.............hense the long side was on the right instead of the left..............not that it makes any difference. It might be good to have a change now and again. lol
No sentiments on as yet............not too sure who it is for yet!

More cards part 2

For my husband's birthday which was yesterday.............He does a bit of singing locally!!
For Tracey on the imag-e-nation forum She has had a bad time of it lately so sent it to her to cheer her up. It's her birthday today. Happy Birthday Trace.

A sad one.........my OH's cousin's husband died of cancer yesterday aged 58 it's no age is it? RIP Keith

I love this shape........Rita on the forum posted this template. It's made from a sheet 8" x 16" and makes a 8" x 8" card. I couldn't wait to try it out. It's easy to do and it's different!!

Cards made in the last week or so

The first parchment card I've seen that might suit a man so made it for Kev my friend's partner
And this one is from Lyn, my friend.............he has an old BSA C15 as pictured

You may have seen something like this before, Lyn and Kev have two grand daughters more or less the same age, so wanted similar cards. So did one in lilac and one in green (pictured earlier)

For My husband Tony from another friend

And another for a friend

Some Strange Requests

A bit of background for the first one................We have a friend called John and he's a Yorkshireman although he has lived down here for more than 30 years. We all use the same social club and John is a wind up merchant.
There is a fellow at the club who is rather large and round so John calls him a Dorset Dumpling and John gets called a Yorkshire Pudding............It's all in good fun!
So John wanted a card with a Dorset Dumpling hammering a Yorkshire Pudding for Tony's birthday. The only way I could do it was to draw the dumpling myself, but I think I've met his criteria.

The next one is also for John......he wanted a Dandy Bike and a sign post with Weymouth and Dorset on.............What he doesn't realise the hours and hours it takes to find all these images.
They are getting more and more bizarre.

This is also a strange request.........I've never heard of anyone sending a card to a new Aunty....but she must have her reasons! A card you could never buy in the shops!!

Started Parchment Craft

I've been Interested to have a go for a long while, but I always thought that a lot of time and effort went into parchment craft, and I couldn't bear to give it to someone who wouldn't appreciate it. Anyway, a kit came up on ebay so I thought.....why not! First one was a bookmark which came with the kit, that went into mary's card as she reads a lot.
The next one was also from the kit, I was pleased how that one turned out.

The wedding card...............I wanted something special...........It is for the couple I made the wedding invites for. There is only so much you can do with just a couple of embossing tools and a pricking tool. I have just teated myself to 10 more tools from ebay so hopefully will be able to tackle more patterns.

Last of my July family cards

Last one for July for my nephew Mark............No prizes for guessing his hobby! Time enough then for the start of all the orders, starting with this one for a 15 yr old
